At Precision Metal Machining, Inc. we can provide electrical discharge machining (EDM) of components up to 15" in length, 23" in width, and 18" in height. Wire EDM provides advantages over traditional machining when creating intricate shapes from pre-hardened materials. Because material is removed by electrical charge rather than abrasive cutting there is no heat distortion and subsequent change in material properties. In addition, since EDM machining is performed by a wire tracing a programmed path, there is no dedicated tooling involved. This makes wire EDM an optimal choice in creating prototypes, single piece projects, and low volume work.

Since we offer a variety of precision machining services, customers do not have to predetermine the best manufacturing method for their design. After analyzing a product design, engineers can assist customers in determining the most efficient and cost effective method of production for their application and volume requirements. Post-machining services include polishing, engraving, heat treating and assembly. Kitted components or complete assemblies can be provided to the customer as desired.
